The Wild Outpost & Apothecary is a family-owned treasure nestled in the heart of the outdoors, near the Shenandoah National Park. We pride ourselves on offering a unique selection of camping gear, local goods, herbs, and handmade products that reflect our commitment to quality and community.
Founder and Owner, Scott Feinauer, was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia where he developed his love of the outdoors through years spent hiking, camping, and fishing in the Southern Appalachian Mountains.
After retiring from a career in public service, Scott and his family moved to Greene County and quickly fell in love with the region. Scott spent the last 5 years in the transportation division of a global food and restaurant service company before opening The Wild, in its first iteration, Shenandoah Survival.
Scott has been married to his wife, Nichole, for 27 years. They have ten children ranging in age from toddler to adult, and one grandchild. Nichole is the owner of The Nest, a freestanding birth center located just north of the store. Nichole's interest in natural remedies and medicine led us to expand our herbal apothecary.
When not working, Scott can be found with his family, tending to their garden and a range of animals at their home, or enjoying the woods and rivers nearby.
